Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Lottery is expecting a record-breaking football season for sports betting, with New Hampshire players already wagering more than $13 million over the first two weeks of the 2024-2025 NFL season. This marks a $1.7 million increase in total wagering compared to the first two weeks of last year’s NFL season.

The New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings, New Hampshire’s exclusive sports betting provider, has also experienced strong momentum with NCAA football sports betting, as games began Saturday, August 24. So far this season, bettors have placed over 248,000 bets, wagering more than $9.8 million.

“The two best things about September are the arrival of fall and the kickoff of a new football season! Here in New Hampshire we take pride not only in our New England Patriots but also in our passion for sports betting. Whether you are betting for or against them, having a little skin in the game makes any play that much more thrilling,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “Each year, football continues to be one of our biggest sports betting drivers. With an ever-expanding lineup of betting options for our players, the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings are confident that momentum will continue throughout this season. Here’s to another season of New Hampshire winners!”

The New Hampshire Lottery has seen a number of betting trends emerge early in the season. New Hampshire players are picking the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl, followed by the Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions and the New England Patriots, despite the Patriots being a 200 to 1 longshot to win the Super Bowl. While the New Hampshire Lottery has seen more betting activity on the Patriots to win four or less games this year, New Hampshire bettors also overwhelmingly bet on the Patriots to win their division.

New Hampshire players are picking C.J. Stroud to win the MVP, followed by Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson. Ohio State, Texas, Oregon and Georgia are favorites of New Hampshire bettors to win the NCAA championship.

Through DraftKings, players have the opportunity to place a number of bets before and during games, including against the spread, on the game winner, prop bets and more. Players can also explore a variety of parlay betting options, as well as betting on “futures,” such as picking the eventual Super Bowl winner or the eventual NCAA national champion.

“With a new season of football and even more exciting betting opportunities, we would also like to remind our players that while betting is fun, it is always important to do so responsibly,” McIntyre continued. “The New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings encourage players to take advantage of the DraftKings app’s responsibility features, like limit setting, cool-off periods and self-exclusion. New this NFL season is DraftKings’ My Stat Sheet, a feature similar to screen time notifications that provides players with a clear view of their personal stats, including time spent on the platform, deposits, withdrawals, wagers placed and net win/loss. These tools are designed to help players become more knowledgeable about their play and keep their gaming as a fun source of entertainment.”

Last season, New Hampshire players wagered an average of $5 million per week on the NFL with total wagering on the NFL topping out at $113 million. In Fiscal Year 2024, New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings players wagered more than $753 million, generating $33.6 million in revenue to support New Hampshire public education.

New Hampshire residents can download the DraftKings Sportsbook app to place wagers through DraftKings, the exclusive digital operator in New Hampshire. Sports fans can place bets on the DraftKings Sportsbook app via iOS and Android or online at Sportsbook.DraftKings.com.
