Anticipated $1.55 Billion on the Line for Tonight’s Powerball Drawing


Concord, NH – The Powerball jackpot continues to rise, with the New Hampshire Lottery projecting tonight’s (10/9) jackpot will reach $1.55 billion. The estimated $1.55 billion jackpot would be the fourth-largest jackpot in lottery history and the third-largest Powerball jackpot on record. The New Hampshire Lottery expects the one-time cash payout to increase to $679.8 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)

“There are now more than 1.5 billion reasons to get in the Powerball action for tonight’s drawing!” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “Our retailers and NH iLottery have seen strong sales momentum over the past week as this jackpot has surpassed the $1 billion mark—and there’s no sign of that sales activity slowing down. The $1.55 billion Powerball jackpot has been growing since July 19, when a lucky California player purchased a $1 billion jackpot winning ticket. Since the drawing in July, there have been 35 consecutive Powerball drawings without a jackpot winner.

Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 PM.
