Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Lottery teamed up with Recycled Percussion and the band’s Emmy-nominated TV series, Chaos and Kindness, to surprise Dover Middle School students with a visit and demonstration from the nationally recognized instrumental rock band. As part of the initiative, the New Hampshire Lottery also donated $5,000 to Dover Middle School.

“How much fun is this to be able to surprise the Dover Middle School with a visit from Recycled Percussion, along with this donation – it’s not every day students get a live rock band performance during the school day,” said Erle Pierce, New Hampshire Lottery Commissioner. “A huge thank you goes out to Recycled Percussion for partnering with us through this unique opportunity to emphasize our commitment to supporting education in New Hampshire, and for providing students and teachers with a truly entertaining experience.”

The New Hampshire Lottery shared this initiative via social media and offered followers the opportunity to nominate a New Hampshire public school of their choice by commenting on the Facebook post between October 20 and October 25. Dover Middle School was randomly selected by the New Hampshire Lottery as the winner from nearly 180 nominations.

Based in Laconia, New Hampshire, Recycled Percussion, which placed third on season four of America’s Got Talent in 2009, uses instruments built from recycled materials to perform across the globe. Committed to supporting communities globally, Recycled Percussion’s Emmy-nominated TV series Chaos and Kindness follows lead percussionists, Justin Spencer and Ryan Vezina, as they work to make the world a better place through acts of kindness. As a team, Chaos and Kindness have donated bikes, toys and school supplies to children in need, supported local community events with gifts and prizes, and generated funds for nonprofit organizations.

The Facebook live recording of the performance can be viewed here.
