Concord, NH – The Powerball jackpot continues to grow as the New Hampshire Lottery projects tonight’s (10/24) Powerball jackpot will increase to $625 million, which would make it the eighth-largest Powerball jackpot in history. The one-time cash payout is expected to reach $299.8 million. Saturday night’s (10/22) drawing marked the 35th consecutive Powerball drawing without a winner. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)
Three lucky players purchased $50,000 winning Powerball tickets for the drawing on Saturday (10/22). The winning tickets were purchased at Market Basket on Market Place Boulevard in Rochester, Sunoco on Hall Farm Road in Atkinson, and the NH Liquor & Wine Outlet on High Street in Somersworth. The three $50,000 winners come after two players purchased $50,000 winning tickets for the drawing last Wednesday (10/19). One player purchased a winning ticket at Alltown Market on Second Street in Manchester and a second player purchased a winning ticket at Market Basket on Garden Lane in Londonderry.
“Now with what would be one of the top-10 largest Powerball jackpots in history and with five $50,000 Powerball winners in the last two drawings, could a jackpot winner here in New Hampshire be next?” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “Players are jumping at this opportunity to become New Hampshire’s next multi-millionaire and we anticipate steady ticket sales right up until the drawing tonight. The Powerball jackpot has been growing since August 3, when a lucky winner from Pennsylvania purchased a $206.9 million winning ticket.
The Powerball jackpot reached $1.586 billion in January 2016, marking not only the largest Powerball jackpot on record but also the largest lottery jackpot in history. The jackpot was split between three winners in Florida, California and Tennessee.
Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 PM.
