Fiscal Year 2021 sales surpassed the previous record high of $392.2 million in mid-April; NH Lottery on pace to deliver a record $130 million to NH schools

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Lottery set its all-time annual sales record—and there are still seven weeks to go in the fiscal year. According to unaudited figures, New Hampshire Lottery sales exceeded the previous record high of $392.2 million last month. The New Hampshire Lottery, which has already generated a record $107 million in net profit this year, is on pace to generate $130 million in net profit, all of which supports education in New Hampshire. The previous record net profit was $105.5 million, which was set in Fiscal Year 2019. Since its inception in 1964, the New Hampshire Lottery has contributed more than $2.2 billion to education. (Sales figures noted here do not include sales and revenue from sports betting.)

“The New Hampshire Lottery has already delivered more than $107 million to New Hampshire's public education system this year alone -- a remarkable achievement that benefits our kids," said Governor Chris Sununu.

As of Monday, May 17, New Hampshire Lottery gross sales have exceeded $434 million, marking a more than 30-percent year-over-year increase. Lottery sales are averaging nearly $10.2 million per week across all games.

“This is an extraordinary milestone for the New Hampshire Lottery and we are extremely proud to be able to break our all-time sales record, while delivering on our promise to maximize revenue for education in New Hampshire,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “Our success is the consummate team effort as our dedicated staff works relentlessly and strategically to fulfill our mission each and every day. While we celebrate this accomplishment, as we look ahead, the New Hampshire Lottery is well-positioned to continue building on this momentum to benefit the students and teachers of New Hampshire for years and years to come.”

Nearly all New Hampshire Lottery games are running ahead of last year’s sales pace. A number of factors have contributed to the New Hampshire Lottery’s success over the past year, including dueling Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots that reached a combined $1.58 billion this past January, tremendous growth in Fast Play, which is up more than 200-percent year-over-year, and continued sharp growth in NH iLottery, which is running 136-percent ahead of last year’s pace. KENO 603 is up nearly 52-percent year-over-year, Gimme 5 is running more than 37-percent ahead of last year’s sales pace with scratch ticket sales up more than 21-percent year-over-year.

“On behalf of Commissioners Crews and Holloway, we are incredibly proud of our sales success, which makes a tremendous positive impact on the state of New Hampshire’s public education system,” said Debra Douglas, Chairman, New Hampshire Lottery Commission. “We also want to thank our network of more than 1,400 retailers statewide, as their continued partnership plays a critical role in everything we do. The New Hampshire Lottery continues to evolve and grow, as our menu of games and offerings has expanded considerably in recent years, providing opportunities to continue to engage our existing players, while at the same time reaching new audiences.”

The New Hampshire Lottery is one of the fastest-growing lotteries in the entire country. Over the past five years, New Hampshire Lottery annual sales have jumped by more than $116 million or more than 37.5 percent.
