CONCORD, N.H. – New Hampshire Lottery players will have the chance to win nearly half-a-billion dollars in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing. The New Hampshire Lottery expects the Powerball jackpot to increase to $495 million for Saturday’s drawing, which would make it the 8th-largest Powerball jackpot on record. The one-time cash payout is expected to be more than $300 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)
“The excitement and anticipation is on the rise in New Hampshire with this really big Powerball jackpot of nearly half-a-billion dollars,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director, New Hampshire Lottery. “This is a life-changing prize and I’d like nothing better than to award it to a lucky New Hampshire player. With more than 1,400 retailers statewide offering Powerball and the opportunity to purchase tickets online through iLottery, it’s easy to get in on the Powerball action!”
Powerball drawing results from Wednesday, March 13, were: 18-36-45-47-69 PB-14 with a Power Play of 3.
Whenever this still-growing Powerball jackpot is won, it will mark the first Powerball jackpot win of 2019. There have been 22 Powerball drawings in a row without a winner, dating back to December 26, 2018, when a lucky New York player claimed a $298.3 million winning Powerball ticket.
This is the largest Powerball jackpot since October 2018 when two winners split a $687.8 million jackpot. The largest Powerball jackpot on record was $1.586 billion in January 2016, which is the world record lottery jackpot. That massive prize was split between three winners in California, Florida and Tennessee.
Powerball jackpot winners have the choice between receiving their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or as a lump sum payment.
Powerball drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 PM ET.
Tickets are on sale at more than 1,400 retailers statewide, as well as through the New Hampshire Lottery’s online platform, iLottery. For more information and to play, visit www.nhlottery.com.
