In what would be the eighth-largest Mega Millions jackpot on record, the New Hampshire Mega Millions jackpot is expected to jump to $405 million for Friday’s drawing. The one-time cash payout is expected to increase to $235 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)
“This $405 million Mega Millions jackpot has our players and retailers across the state anticipating New Hampshire’s next big jackpot winner,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director, New Hampshire Lottery. “All of us at the New Hampshire Lottery are hoping a New Hampshire player gets lucky this Friday and becomes New Hampshire’s first Mega Millions jackpot winner. There is still plenty of time to get your tickets!”
The Mega Millions drawing results from Tuesday, October 2, were: 2-22-29-31-34 MB-1 with a Megaplier of 3.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot in history was $656 million, which three winners from Kansas, Illinois and Maryland shared in March 2012.
With no winner this past Tuesday, there have now been 20 straight Mega Millions drawings without a jackpot winner. This $405 million jackpot has been on the rise since July 24, when an 11-member office pool in California won a $543 million jackpot.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM and tickets are on sale until 9:50 PM Friday. Tickets are on sale at more than 1,400 retailers statewide, as well as through the New Hampshire Lottery’s new online platform, iLottery. For more information and to play, visit www.nhlottery.com.
