One-time cash payout projected to reach $254.8 million
With no winner in last night’s drawing, the New Hampshire Mega Millions jackpot is projected to jump to $422 million for Friday’s drawing. The $422 million jackpot would be the sixth-largest Mega Millions jackpot on record. The one-time cash payout for Friday’s drawing is expected to increase to $254.8 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)
“When jackpots reach the $400 million mark and beyond, the action really starts to pick up, and we have already heard from our retailers who are reporting great interest in this jackpot,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “At $422 million, this Mega Millions jackpot is an incredible prize, but you have to play if you want a chance to win. Here’s hoping Friday night’s drawing brings us New Hampshire’s first-ever Mega Millions jackpot winner!”
The Mega Millions drawing results from Tuesday, July 17, were: 40-41-61-66-67 MB-12 with a Megaplier of 5.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot in history was $656 million, which three winners from Kansas, Illinois and Maryland shared in March 2012. The current Mega Millions jackpot has been growing since May 4, when a lucky Ohio player claimed a $142 million prize.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM and tickets are on sale until 9:50 PM Friday.
