CONCORD, N.H. – The New Hampshire Mega Millions jackpot is projected to grow to $493 million for Tuesday’s drawing—which would make it the fifth-largest Mega Millions jackpot on record. The one-time cash payout for Tuesday’s drawing is expected to increase to $296 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are determined before taxes are withheld.)
“The Mega Millions excitement and anticipation has been building for weeks and now with the jackpot increasing to $493 million, you can feel the enthusiasm in the air,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “Players still have plenty of time to get in on the Mega Millions action. We also want to remind players to check their tickets following the drawing. “Let’s make New Hampshire’s first Mega Millions jackpot winner, a $493 million winner!”
The Mega Millions drawing results from Friday, July 23, were: 1-14-30-44-62 MB-1 with a Megaplier of 2.
The current Mega Millions jackpot has been growing since May 4, when a lucky Ohio player claimed a $142 million prize.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot in history was $656 million, which three winners from Kansas, Illinois and Maryland shared in March 2012. Just this past March, a lucky player from New Jersey claimed a $533 million Mega Millions jackpot.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM and tickets are on sale until 9:50 PM Tuesday.
