Manchester resident David Ouellette became New Hampshire’s newest millionaire last night when he won $2 million during a live drawing at The Foundry Restaurant in Manchester. Five finalists took part in the New Hampshire Lottery’s $25 $30 Million Granite Giveaway scratch ticket second chance drawing. In addition to the grand prize winner, the four other finalists took home prizes of $10,000 each.
Ouellette has the option of accepting an annuity payment of $66,666.67 per year for 30 years—the equivalent of $2 million—or accepting a one-time cash payout of $1.35 million. (Prize amounts are calculated before taxes.)
“This $2 million live drawing is a perfect example of the New Hampshire Lottery’s commitment to fun and excitement. It had to be an absolutely thrilling moment for our finalists, as they waited for their names to be called before their family and friends,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “I want to congratulate our grand prize winner and all our finalists, who are all winners!”
