CONCORD, N.H. – New Hampshire Lottery “Spokesman” Chuck McLuck will “dive” into a swimming pool to choose 11 grand prize finalists for the $2,000 A Week for Life game on Thursday, May 25. New Hampshire Lottery players submitted non-winning $2,000 A Week for Life scratch tickets for a second-chance drawing to win up to $2.6 million—the equivalent of $2,000 per week for 25 years. With more than 100,000 entries and without a receptacle large enough to hold them, the New Hampshire Lottery brought in a pool—and Chuck—to handle the preliminary drawing.
The special drawing event will take place from 11 AM to 1 PM at New Hampshire Lottery Headquarters, 14 Integra Drive in Concord. The public and New Hampshire Lottery players are encouraged to attend.
“The New Hampshire Lottery is all about fun and winning, and this special drawing event is a perfect opportunity for players to have a great time,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “With thousands of entries for this $2,000 A Week for Life preliminary second-chance drawing, clearly our players are excited to have another chance at winning the $2.6 million grand prize. We cannot wait to meet our lucky finalists.”
Chuck McLuck has become a popular character starring in a number of New Hampshire Lottery videos in his quest to determine what makes New Hampshire the “luckiest place on earth.” Click here for Chuck’s video illustrating the benefits of playing the lottery in New Hampshire versus Massachusetts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lWSLVz3p2E
The 11 finalists chosen by Chuck will take part in the final drawing at a time, date and place to be determined. The grand prize winner will have the option of taking home $2,000 per week for 25 years or accepting a one-time cash payout of $1 million. (Prize amounts are calculated before taxes.)
In addition to the grand prize, the final drawing will feature prizes ranging from $2,500 to $50,000. The $2,000 A Week for Life game, which cost $20 per play, launched in November 2014 and offered a total of $14.7 million in prizes.
During the event, the New Hampshire Lottery will be running a promotion for the $25 Granite State Gold Scratch Ticket with a variety of giveaways available. In addition, Miss Polly’s Traveling Treats of Concord will offer free ice cream and donuts. Chuck McLuck will also be available for photos.
