Hannaford in Raymond New Hampshire Sells Winning $487 million Powerball Ticket

CONCORD, N.H. – The small community of Raymond New Hampshire was abuzz with excitement this morning as New Hampshire Lottery officials confirmed that the winning $487 million Powerball ticket was sold at the Hannaford Supermarket on Freetown Road. This marks the 10th winning Powerball ticket sold in New Hampshire and the first since 2007.

“As the first lottery in the nation, the New Hampshire Lottery has a long tradition of creating winners. We even like to say that New Hampshire invented lucky!,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery Commission. “That statement could not be more accurate as we are thrilled that the fifth largest Powerball jackpot was sold right here in New Hampshire! Some lucky New Hampshire Lottery player is waking up a winner this morning!”

The Powerball drawing results from July 30 were: 11-17-21-23-32 PB-5 with a Power Play of 2.

The Powerball jackpot for Saturday reached an estimated annuitized $487 million with an estimated cash value of $330.6 million.

New Hampshire has a long tradition of crowning Powerball winners, dating back to 1996 when Dean Leighton of Chester, NH won $51 million.

- 2nd Jackpot Winner - Dec. 17, 1997 - Mary and Jason Sanderson from Manchester, NH won $66 million

- 3rd Jackpot Winner - January 7, 1998 - PB 10 and PB 90 Trust of Lewiston, ME won $25.2 million

- 4th Jackpot Winner - Jan. 16, 1999 - Sidonia Trust of New York City won $38 million cash option

- 5th Jackpot Winner - August 27, 2001 - Pat and Erwin Wales of Bar Mills, ME won $41.4 million cash option

- 6th Jackpot Winner - May 12, 2002 - Nicholas and Carolyn Zayka of Bolton, MA won $42.9 million cash option

- 7th Jackpot Winners - August 30, 2003 - Aeetos Trust of North Conway, NH, Rosemary Centola, Watertown, MA and Lawrence Centola, Watertown, MA split $70 million cash option

- 8th Jackpot Winner - Feb. 4, 2004 - The Bow Trust of Portland, Maine took cash option of $46 million

- 9th Jackpot Winner - April 28, 2007 - Dale Chellis and Toni Sergott of Lake Zurich, Illinois took Cash Option of $31,919,876

- 10th Jackpot Winner – July 30, 2016 – TBD - $487 million

The community of Raymond, NH has just over 10,000 residents and is located just 16 miles from New Hampshire largest city of Manchester along Route 101 which leads to New Hampshire’s picturesque seacoast.

In addition to the winning Powerball prize, a $1 million winning ticket was sold at the Cumberland Farms at 278 Meadow Street in Littleton, NH. A $100,000 winning ticket was sold at the Discount II Plus Deli, located at 1294 New Hampshire 16, Conway, NH.

Powerball tickets are on sale at more than 1,250 retailers in New Hampshire until 9:50 p.m. Saturday. Powerball tickets cost $2 per play. Drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:00 PM.
