Keno 603℠ Update!

During municipal city elections in the fall of 2017, residents in seven cities (Berlin, Claremont, Nashua, Manchester, Franklin, Laconia and Somersworth) across New Hampshire approved the sale of KENO 603℠. Fast forward to the spring of 2018, residents in 56 towns across New Hampshire approved the sale of KENO 603. KENO 603 is on sale in more than 160 bars and restaurants and the New Hampshire Lottery is adding new sales locations weekly. The game, which is administered by the Lottery, is on sale daily 24/7 with drawings every five minutes from 11:05 AM to 1:00 AM. As with any lottery game, only those 18 or older are allowed to play.

During each KENO 603 game, players choose from one to 12 numbers, and every five minutes a computer randomly generates and displays 20 winning numbers from 1 to 80 on a video monitor. A player may place a wager from $1 to $25 per game. The more numbers players match, the more they win.

New Hampshire’s KENO 603 retailers receive an 8% sales commission – the highest in the country – as well as additional bonuses. KENO 603 is proven to draw new customers as well as delight your current patrons. Businesses selling the game have noted an overall sales increase in food and beverage of 15 to 20%. Many report having to hire extra staff to accommodate the influx of new business. With KENO 603, licensed businesses will be able to sell all of the other available lottery games.

Cities that did not approve the operation of KENO 603 may pursue it further during municipal elections in the fall of 2020. Those towns that did not place the sale of KENO 603 on the town warrant may do so through a Town Meeting vote in spring 2019. We will reach out to Select Boards in the fall of 2018 to provide information about the legislation, ballot requirements, and benefits of KENO 603 to pouring establishments in their towns.

Those towns that did not place the sale of KENO 603 on the town warrant or those interested in placing it again on the town warrant may do so through a Town Meeting vote in spring 2019.

All equipment needed to sell KENO 603 is provided at no cost. The New Hampshire Lottery will also train your employees and provide all advertising materials for the game.

Approved establishments, which must have a valid liquor license, will pay a $500 annual license fee to offer KENO 603, according to the legislation.

We are reaching out to establishments to provide information on how KENO 603 will work and to explain the application process. Please take a moment and review the additional information on this page.
