Keefe is New Hampshire’s second Lucky For Life top prize winner
CONCORD, N.H. – Opting for the one-time cash payout, Manchester resident Robert Keefe received his $5.75 million Lucky For Life top prize at New Hampshire Lottery headquarters today. As the top prize winner, Keefe had the option of taking home $1,000 a day for life, or the one-time cash payout of $5.75 million, before taxes. Keefe bought his winning ticket at the Hannaford Supermarket at 859 Hanover Street in Manchester for the drawing on March 3. Keefe is the second Lucky For Life top prize winner from New Hampshire since the game launched in March 2012.
Keefe, who was born in Las Vegas but has lived in New Hampshire for most of his life, plays all of the New Hampshire Lottery’s jackpot games, including Powerball, Mega Millions, Megabucks and Lucky For Life. In fact, Keefe has never missed a drawing. He uses the same numbers for all of the games with his numbers representing birthdays.
“We were so thrilled to meet our big Lucky For Life Winner and New Hampshire’s newest millionaire! Congratulations to Robert Keefe,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Lottery Commission. “It is so gratifying for the New Hampshire Lottery when a loyal, long-time player wins the top prize. We wish all the best to Mr. Keefe!”
Keefe’s winning ticket was a multi-draw ticket, good for eight consecutive Lucky For Life drawings from February 8 through March 3. It was on the final and last drawing that his ticket won the top prize of $1,000 a day for life. Keefe is the 10th top prize winner in all states since the game’s inception.
The winning numbers for the March 3 drawing were 3-4-10-18-21 Lucky Ball: 2.
Richard Higgins of Manchester became the first player from New Hampshire to win Lucky For Life’s top prize of $1,000 a day for life in August 2013. Higgins purchased the winning ticket at Bunny’s Superette at 75 Webster Street in Manchester.
In January 2015, Lucky For Life, now known as “The Game of a Lifetime,” was expanded to offer larger prize amounts and improved odds. In addition to its top prize, the game also features a $25,000 second prize and other cash prizes ranging from $2,000 to $2.
The Lucky For Life draw game is sold in the six New England states, as well as Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina, District of Columbia, Iowa, Kentucky, North Carolina, North Dakota, and Ohio.
Drawings take place Mondays and Thursdays at approximately 10:38 pm, Eastern Time. Tickets cost $2.
